Lufkin man reverses truck out of parking spot, arrested for DWI
LUFKIN, Feb. 7, 2012—Lufkin Police Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated male in a blue Chevrolet truck parked in front of a business located in the 1800 block of W. Frank Avenue on Sunday at approximately 1:30 p.m.
According to the report, an officer located the vehicle in the parking lot and while approaching the truck, observed the driver placing the vehicle in gear. The officer reached the driver’s side window as the driver started backing out of the parking spot.
The officer then directed the driver to stop the truck, shut off the ignition and hand the keys to the officer. The driver, Billy Evans, 53, complied.
The officer observed multiple clues indicating Evans was intoxicated and he was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated with one prior conviction.
