Lufkin PD makes two arrests after assault report
LUFKIN, Feb. 2, 2012—Lufkin Police Officers made an arrest resulting from an assault report on Wednesday morning at approximately 9:20 a.m.
According to Police, Katelyn Nicole Trapp, 19, flagged down a Lufkin Police Officer at the intersection of Chestnut and Mitchell Streets in Lufkin and reported that Delila Mangum, 21, had assaulted her at the dead end of Mitchell Street.
The officer made contact with multiple people at 1111 Mitchell Street. Trapp stated that Mangum punched her in the eye. Mangum stated that Trapp’s step-mother came to Mangum’s residence wanting to fight and Trapp attacked her, which is why she punched her in the eye.
The officer found Trapp in possession of brass knuckles and arrested her for Possession of a Prohibited Weapon. Trapp admitted that she had prescription pain medication in her pants and produced eight hydrocodone pills. She claimed her father had given her the pills for pain.
Trapp was charged with possession of a dangerous drug and possession of prohibited weapon.
Mangum was arrested for three Lufkin Municipal Court traffic warrants.
