Frankston man wanted by Anderson Co. authorities for alleged burglary, assault
ANDERSON CO., Jan. 30, 2012—Anderson County authorities are looking for a suspect that was involved in an assault that allegedly occurred when the suspect broke into a home on Saturday morning around 8:30 a.m.
According to Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor, Charles Minchew, 38, of Frankston, entered the home by force and assaulted a male individual at the residence. He claimed to be angry about his ex-girlfriend not allowing him to see their son.
“He [Minchew] fled the residence and we searched for him for several hours,” Sheriff Taylor said.
A warrant was obtained for Minchew on Monday morning for burglary of habitation with intent of other felony and has a $100,000 bond set.
“Minchew has an extensive criminal history and has been known to run from us in other arrests in the past,” Sheriff Taylor said.
According to Taylor, Minchew is known as "Scooter" and is known in the Frankston and Cherokee County areas, as well as near the Henderson and Anderson County line near Frankston.
Any information that may lead to the arrest of Minchew may be rewarded by up to $1,000. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 903-729-8477.
