New Spin on Jacksonville Chamber's Business After Hours function
JACKSONVILLE, Jan. 30, 2012--Business After Hours is a chamber function in Jacksonville focused on networking within the community. A business hosts the event once a month inviting not only chamber members, but the community as well. There is a chance to win door prizes from local businesses and an opportunity to learn more about local businesses and the people in our community.
Typically, there is a chamber-member drawing at each Business After Hours for a prize of cash. Starting in 2012, the cash will have to be earned through the Business After Hours Cash Quest. A ‘cash card’ will be received at the first attendance of Business After Hours. There will be trivia, games, scavenger hunts, and other activities to obtain punches on your card. There will be plenty of opportunities to receive punches at each event, so if you miss one you still have a chance to win. Once the card is filled up, it will be entered in the end of the year drawing and a fresh card will be awarded. The drawing will take place at the 88th Annual Banquet in January of 2013.
First place will receive a cash prize of $450, second place will receive a cash prize of $350, and third place will receive a cash prize of $250.
January’s Business After Hours was hosted by Gardendale Nursing and Rehabilitation on Thursday, January 26th. They had the opportunity of being the first business to have the new Business After Hours format. The response was positive and everyone had a great time. Gardendale offered a lavish array of eats as well as a basket for the door prize drawing.
Among the donations for the door prizes was Texas State Railroad, Musick’s Flower Shop, Fratela’s Italian Restaurant, Austin Bank, and Harry’s Building Materials.
Thank you to Mary Lou Taylor and Kathleen Stanfill for your hard work and success in organizing Business After Hours and Gardendale Nursing and Rehabilitation for welcoming all who attended.
