TYLER, Jan. 24, 2012--Heart of Tyler Inc. will celebrate its 24th year of downtown Tyler revitalization work with its 2012 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 24.
 
A reception will be held from 6-7 p.m. at Gallery Main Street, 110 W. Erwin. The main program and election of board members and officers will begin at 7 p.m. at Liberty Hall.
 
With the theme of “Downtown Tyler is a Treasure,” the meeting will focus on treasures of downtown, as well as program accomplishments of 2011. Mayor Barbara Bass will be the evening’s featured speaker.
 
The Brick Award will be presented to a person or group who demonstrated outstanding support of Heart of Tyler and downtown revitalization in 2011.
 
Heart of Tyler 2011 President Chris Simons will preside at the meeting.
 
“We have so many people, places, and events that we consider ‘treasures’ of downtown Tyler,” Simons said. “We will celebrate them at this meeting and look forward to what we will accomplish next in 2012.”
